urgh...

life is getting more hectic. studies getting tougher, homework piling up, not to mention "issues". well shant get into that, its not nice to talk about.

well, thursday was kinda unlucky for me. haha. totally forgot about that supposedly "tiny" physics quiz at the end of the day. barely did any studying for it at all. totally flunked it. heh. like 0-zero-nil-zilch. didnt know how to do the questions at all la. then after handing that blank script i was so freaking paiseh that i quickly packed up and left the school... leaving my whole book of physics notes behind. and i didnt even realise it until i reached home. to make matters worse, my attempt to get it back failed miserably too. haha. although fiona was kind (nice and innocent - ???) enough to try to help me get it from the classroom, by the time she got there after her bio test, the room was locked and the General Office people said that they couldnt help her unlock it. tsk. well well, that spelled the end of physics revision the whole weekend. thankfully, i was able to borrow a set of notes from johnathan to do my tutorial, but the dynamics chapter wasnt completed yet so i couldnt go through the examples again. aye.

had water training on friday and saturday. lots of those recently eh? anyway, i guess the main aim now is to work on my paddling strokes as well as my balance on the K-1. ummm. yeah, mrKieu was teaching us some more efficient paddling stroke on friday.... cant get it. nvm, practice practice practice. headed down to queensway with louis to meet raymond and cheehao to scout for team bag after that. nothing that fancy eh. besides, the price range of sporting brands there isnt as low as people make it out to be either. mm. still considering although we do have one in mind.

on a side note, i feel that team bonding is very important. so its a good thing that i feel so close to the canoeing guys that i treat them as brothers. oh on second thought, dont you think we even look alike:

saturday's training pretty much went the same way. though coach actually switched a couple of us back to the JKs to focus more on shoulder and waist rotation to build up technique. mmm. it was kinda like doing laps i guess. then the worst part was at the end when he made the few of us go do rundowns of 250 and 300 with the j2. urrr. got owned. haha. demoralising... like so far ahead. shoulders, back, ass all aching after that. well, it could only help us improve i suppose. coach had this small nutrient talk with us after that, about diets and all. urgh, i really really dont wanna become a vegetarian, i love eating meat far to much. haha. besides, my parents would give me hell i think. lunch was another interesting affair, ended up eating vegetarian food at the foodcourt at tampines (what a ripoff). had mac's icecream for the first time in months too. mmm.

well all in all, the canoeing people are a fun bunch:

Louis
(future schoolbag?)

Raymond the botak leader.

Ernest and Benjamin
(Scandalous couple no.2) heh.

Fiona
(little girl in a cap?)

just laugh, dont ask questions..

"Holidays" are almost over. what a relief

oh man. what a break from school. this past week has been so exciting that i havent found the time nor the words to describe what great fun ive been having. NOT. haha. well, its not that i was bored to tears or anything but its just that nothing even remotely out of the ordinary happened that i felt obliged to blog about.

lets see how things went.

sunday - 090308
early early morning. headed over to lower seletar reservoir via mrt (effffffing cold) to watch the finals of mr500. not exactly eventful other than the fact that we blindly put our bags on top of some anthill and my bag was crawling with teensy little ants. urghh. the thought of it still makes my skin crawl. bought my new booties after. a $23 hole burnt into my wallet.

monday - wednesday - friday
water trainings at bedok reservoir. haha. yay the final training had no more latecomers. melissa was darn funny la. she was so scared that shed be late that she actually turned up at 8 for the 9oclock training. like wth. haha. anywayy - moved on from JK to solo-K2 (???) to K1 at last on friday. hurray. finally, now i really gotta get more practice time on my balance and my strokes. need to get rid of the paddle-paddle-paddle-tap-tap-paddle-paddle-tap-tap habit. im just so slow and lousy. (no worries fiona, you'll overtake me with ease! haha)

tuesday - thursday- saturday
studyyyy. yeah. hard to believe i know. me. studying. doing homework. hah. ive changed people. i do homework now. errrrr. yeah well... due to some stuff on tuesday, didnt use the study room. too bad huh, its so super conducive for work, shall visit that place more often from now on. ummm... yup, so i went back down there on thursday and today to finish up whats left of my homework. mmmm. still left with some things to research for my gp essay then i gotta finish writing it. uhuh. lazy though, i'll do it after dinner. =/

wellll. thats pretty much it for my holidays. isnt it just so amazing that i can summarise a whole week's worth of fun and excitement into three paragraphs?

yeah while studying ive been busy getting addicted to a couple of songs. here they are:

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - The Grim Goodbye

Jonas Brothers - When You Look Me In The Eyes

Carrie Underwood - All American Girl

Chris Brown - With You

Sara Bareilles - Love Song

FAREWELL C, HELLO K

yepp. coach says that it isnt fair to make me change from being a natural right hander to paddle on my left, its too awkward and it'll take far too much time to convert my stance. sooo, i guess i'm heading back to the JK to work on my strokes and balance. hopefully i can make up on the time that the rest had when i was practicing (capsizing/swimming) on the C-1. urghh. and louis and gideon just moved on to the K-1 today. hais. LAGGING sucks.

besides, as fiona put it across to me, i wasted $10.50 today cos i lost my right water bootie. was swimming back to shore (again) and i kicked out and some stupid underwater rock scraped my calf, ankle and slipped my shoe off. irritating. another unlucky day i guess.

on a separate note, i really need to get studying/revision done this hols. trainings on monday-wednesdat-friday, so much homework, tests to study for. hai. hahaha, i guess i'll go pay my pre-Olevel haunt a visit this coming week. shall make use of my study room membership to go chiong work in the study room again like the good old days. study in morning, short break for lunch, chiong work till dinner, then head home. haha. love the freaking cold air-conditioning there.

and yes, thankyou to everyone whos shown concern for me or helped me in some way over the last 2weeks(?). i dont think you'll see me emo about that issue any more. not that its settled the way id like it but ive just chosen to forget about it. what isnt meant to be yours wont be yours right?

$$$

there never really is enough money is there. there are so many things i wanna buy, and i find myself so cash strapped:

  1. Whey Protein (sharing with huiqin)
  2. Shaker
  3. Gym bag for water trainings
  4. Graphic Calculator
  5. Exercise shirt/shorts
thankfully, i didnt have to spend another $100++ to get my IC back. oh did i mention - i almost lost my wallet this past wednesday. what a loser. it was really really an unlucky day okay. heres what happened. the day itself sucked, lectures were really a bore that day, dunno why but so super boring and tedious. then as cheehao, gideon and i were sitting in the cafe waiting for the others so that we could bus down to bedok, this passing bird dropped some bomb on us. one shot - three kills. no doubt cheehao got the worst of it, on his shirt and pants, but the rest of us got hit on our bottoms too, meaning that i had to go home in wet shorts after trng, since i happily didnt bring other clothes to change into. thus, on the way home, i stuffed my wallet into the tiny pe shorts pocket, where it nicely just fell out at somewhere between bedok at serangoon.

heres where my luck changed. i was waiting with dayna at the bus stop for her mum to pick her up:

dayna: im gonna buy something, do you want anything?
me: nah, dont have much money left, saving money.
(NICE dayna kindly buys a packet of milo for me, attempting to treat me)
me: eh. i cant let you treat me, how much is it?

ahah. because of this, i dug around in my bag for the longest time ever and realised that my wallet was missing. since i knew that benjamin would get off at the last stop, i quickly made phone calls to get his number. called deborah - no reply. called dionis - got guoxiang's number. called guoxiang - got benjamin's number. whew. and i managed to contact benjamin just before he entered amk mrt station. and he actually walked all the way back to the bus interchange where he underwent some interrogation from the office people before finally claiming my wallet back - without anything missing too! cool right.

well so as thanks for their help. i actually promised them to treat them to lunch after saturday training. which was today. buttt - due to a unforeseen turn of events, i didnt even join them for lunch today. sorry, i'll make it up to yall the next time we have lunch or dinner together.

training was good. finally moved on from the T-1. morning training was with the other J1s, tested out the JK-1s. really really much more unstable as compared to the T-1s, capped a couple of times, didnt get much practice though. actual practical training was shortened because of the strong winds, then had to share the JK-1 with ben after he finished his sculling test in his T-1. but then, after the J1s finished training, coach and ms ong said that i could move on to the C-1, and raymond offered to stay back and teach me if i was willing. so of course i did. haha. so fun la. i think that since i didnt have to keep passing the boat around, the extra practice time did wonders for my progress. went from not even being able to scull, to being able to place both my feet into the boat and balance in about 3 hours. cool right. loved it. every little bit of progress was gave me such a high feeling. and every time i capsized it just made me more determined to get back in and get it right. totally skipped lunch and didnt even feel it. cant wait for the next water training.

the current situation sucks and im really thinking of just giving it up. wont work out for me anyway.
