flying without wings... okay maybe with wing paddle
mm. this past week has been .. tiring? well tiring but eventful... in a good sort of way. besides training, ive kinda been replacing the stuff that ive lost. after the bad luck on the weekend, the rest of the week has been relatively more ... positive?
monday- tuesday
had some really pointless lessons in school.. like most of the people just ponn-ed the lessons without reason and attendances werent even taken? ohwell, lessons are lessons, gotta admit i was kinda in the holiday mood, dont think i even absorbed much from those lessons.
naturally, the highlights of those days were the optional trainings after lessons. haha. darn cool, mrlee pushed up physics lessons on monday so i ended like 1.5hours earlier, headed down to bedok with leon where we kinda were the only 2 people in the whole reservoir. i gotta admit its a really cool feeling, kinda like you own the whole place. well basically did 250m laps for the whole training. guess it was more of getting as much water time as possible since we havent had that much time for water training over the past weeks. heh not enough raptors to use. ohwell, i kinda feel that this extra time in the water has been helpful, capsizing is becoming more and more rare. haha, and i can feel myself getting faster! yes! at last the snail is improving. ahaha.
tuesday's water training was quite cool too. i mean, though the rain was bloody heavy and restricted our water time, listening to coach's talk was good. what with all his talk about being crazy and all. now i wanna be crazy! i'll do just that. lets say .... 50pushups after water for everytime my paddle knocks the boat + 100pushups for every capsize? well lets do something like that for a start. haha. okayy, we also did 250m rundowns for the first time on tuesday... well not exactly bad. i actually kinda like the feeling of competitions down the lanes. tunnel vision!
wednesday was seriously a waste of time. louis and i didnt go down for optional on the pretext that we were gonna replace our ICs at ICA. to put a long story short, the officer there encouraged us not to replace so soon, and just sorta left us with $60+ in our respective ezlink cards. darn. haha. ohwell, at least something good happened later on. when i went to get a replacement SIMcard, the counter guy said that my phone plan had expired last june, and that i could renew and get a new phone. oh the joy. haha. well, happily got a nokia 6500. lol. honestly, i havent been keeping up with the recent phone trends but well, it was the first phone i saw on the brochure the guy gave me and it wasnt that expensive... doesnt look half bad i think.
thursday... not bad not bad. fitness test in the morning and water again in the afternoon. mmm. improvements in everything except chinups... yeah. ohwell, not too disppointed, training everyday to improve it. well at the very least, my 2.4timing has finally scraped below the 10min mark. literally - 0959. lol. not to mention i was running with some mysterious hamstring strain. water training was stressful ... coach made improvements to the stroke we were doing, then chose a couple of us to do 250m and then 500m rundowns. as if doing 500m rundowns for the first time was not scary enough, he added the extra stress: "i might kick the last person out of the team". dang. actually, i think 500m rundowns are quite cool, however not so much when the wind is blowing really really hard and the waves are crashing against the boat like nobody's business. then - its just plain irritating. i still feel sorta guilty that we hogged the raptors and the the j1 girls were stuck with the t1s and jks for the entire training... SORRY!!! oh but the highlight of the training was that coach finally decided to hand out wing paddles! ohyeahh... its been so long that we've been stuck with those huge bright red MOE paddles. at long last we can "fly" (according to louis). lol.
friday
mm. im kinda bored of repeating all the same stuff about training so im just gonna keep it short. training in the morning.
tried out our new paddles.
coach let me use the marathon boat - hmm its surprisingly stable.
k2 with tzetian.
OH i can sorta paddle in the C1! well if racing is running and leisure paddling is walking, then i can crawl.. but still... yay.
topless pushup session (haha. wth)
crapping at subway. (ahem SHHHH)
steamboat dinner at whampoa.
oh crap theres canoeing test tmr. i hope i dont screw it up. ahem ahem. wonder what coach is gonna put us through.
