darn. dont know why but im feeling so tired today. maybe cos theres the feeling that these few days off will just be used for studying.
service award. colours award. tong ju award. chong seak chan award. actually do they matter? no. perhaps some people might feel that they do. look deep inside yourself, i believe we're past caring about such insignificance. i would like to think that those of us from ncc, no, ANY uniformed group, should have gained so much more over these last 4years to care about these kind of thing.

they say a picture says a thousand words, i wonder what this one says: "woof x 1000"?
okay. the truth is that i didnt take any pictures today. whats the point. over the last few years, national day has really lost its charm. now its pretty much a day that the organisers make themselves look like fools trying to stir up festive feelings within the school body. if you think about it, the sec1s-sec3s who werent involved in the parade went to school today just to attend the flag raising and get a free icecream? hahaha. id feel like a wasted my time.
even the parade seems to be getting more and more dull each year. way back in sec1, its was a whole lot of hustle and bustle, i believe it was cos it was a prestige for a sec1 to be included in the contigent. sec2, alright, im not sure, perhaps it was more of trying to prove myself to my seniors? sec3 was a chore, more of a 'idonthaveachoice' kind of thing. now, it all seems so silly. no disrespect for those involved.
the service/colours award presentation was waste of time. i kinda felt it was more disrespectful than an attempt to reward service. they didnt even bother setting up the table until the last minute, kinda dumping all the plaques on the table in a heap, randomly giving them away. thats why i feel that awards are overrated, just know that youve contributed, it doesnt really matter if its noticed.
speech day. urgh. haha. i guess desmond summed it up with:
'if your parents accepted the invitation, they wouldnt be proud of you. instead, youd get scolded after that for making them come and waste time listening to all the boring speeches.'
haha. thats so true. i should have taken a picture of the people sitting around me to emphasis this point.

Poon, softballer behing me: slept then woke up to read harry potter.
for my part, i was only interested in Sai Ming's speech (Valedictorian 2006). inspiring. 9A1s-1B3 if i remember correctly. Patrol Leader in scouts and one of the most approachable guys ive known from his batch. an all rounder and a nice guy to boot. cheers. (pssssst: i heard that he got $500 for his award!)
alright. i feel so cheated. i paid $8 for a movie worth $4. the simpsons movie was only good in the beginning. okay, since the only thing nice about the simpsons is the retarded humour, it was only funny in the beginning. i actually fell asleep during the 2nd half of the movie. bah! wasted my afternoon.
okay, my next 2days will probably be spent studying. i pretty much have arrangements with people. lets see if these follow through.
